Dear Parents and Guardians,

I am writing to inform you about an incident that occurred today at Aaron Mossell Junior High School involving students who made threats. As soon as we became aware of the situation, district administrators worked closely with local law enforcement to conduct a thorough investigation to determine the nature of the threat.

After concluding the investigation late this afternoon, it was determined that the threat was not credible. At no time was the safety of students, staff, or the school environment at risk during the school day.

Please rest assured that the district takes any potential threat with the utmost seriousness. Our process includes swift action, a comprehensive investigation, and communication with families. All matters are handled in accordance with the District Code of Conduct to ensure a fair and thorough review.

We encourage you to discuss with your children the importance of using respectful and appropriate language at school and help them understand the serious implications of making verbal threats.

As an added precaution, there will be an increased presence of police and security staff at Aaron Mossell Junior High School on Monday morning to help maintain a safe and reassuring environment.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to Principal Dr. Kathleen Bailey at 716-478-4700.

Thank you for your partnership in supporting the safety and well-being of our school community.

Yours in Education,
Mathis Calvin III, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools
