For the 2024-25 school year, a new standards-based report card has been implemented for K-4 elementary students. The report card was redesigned to recognize and clearly communicate the individualized development and progress of each student toward meeting New York State learning standards. 

NYS ELA Learning Standards, also known as academic standards, are written descriptions of what students should know and be able to do at the END of a grade level. Below are the grade K-4 grade standards, an explanation of what the standard means, and ideas on what parents/guardians can do at home to help their child be more successful in reaching grade level standards.
